Question of the Day: How do you know if the information you find on line is accurate and truthful?

To me you don't know so you just have to take as much information as you can from different websites and look over it and see if the information is the same. You just have to go by a secondary source because the person who put the information up on the computer is not the person who was actually there.

Cyber Safety

What risks do teens face on the Internet?... The risk teens face on the internet is talking to people that they do not know.

How and why does the "Net effect" effect online behavior?... It helps us be aware of what is on the internet and what not to do when you are talking to someone.

How should we use social media?... We should use social media in a positive way by getting help with home work from a friend or we should use it to communicate with teacher about the work.

Why are digital citizenship and literacy key to Online Safety 3.0?...The reason why digital citizenship and literacy key to online safety is 3.0 because they want everyone to have the most protection on the internet as possible.

What does this all mean and how is it relevant to you?... This all mean that you should be careful to what you are doing on the internet and make sure that everything that you are putting up on the internet is not personal information. Its relevant to me because I understand what not to do and what to do on the internet.

Question of the Day: Do you think that a parents should spy on their kid's online life? Is this good parenting or an invasion of privacy?

I think that parents should spy on their children online life just to make sure they are doing the right thing and making the right decisions. Its good parenting but then again it is invading their privacy but if you care for your child then you would invade as much privacy as u can.

Question of the Day: What do you think about people who say unkind things to others using a computer? How would you feel if someone said something mean to you on the telephone, in an email, or in an online discussion? Is there a difference between the telephone and the computer?

People who say unkind things to others are very mean. The have low self esteem and the only way to get their esteem back up they have to bring someone down with them. I would feel hurt but at the same time I would ignore because I know that they are only doing that to get their self esteem back up. There is no difference between the telephone and the computer because either way it will all come out the same and hurt the same way.

Cyber Test

When using the internet you should be careful with what information you are sending out. The information you send out can have a lot of consequences with whom you are speaking to and others. Make sure that the person you are talking to on the internet knows who you are and you as well know who they are. If so happen that someone decides to send you some inappropriate substances don't reply and tell an adult that can take matters into a more efficient hands. Sometimes if you feel something is not right in that chat room then exit and wait an hour or until u feel as though its time to go back into that chat room. Just remember that keeping yourself and your family is the safest way you can go.

If someone ask me about my personal information in a gaming room that is the same age as me or close i would ask them why do they want to know all my personal information. Then once they answer i would tell them i think that their reason for knowing my personal information is not acceptable so therefore they cant have it and then exit out of the game so they wont keep asking me.

Question of the Day: If you feel uncomfortable in any chat room, find something "a little weird" on Facbook/MySpace, or just think something is wrong online. What do you think you should do? Why?

I think you should exit out of that chat room before something really goes wrong, because if you don't feel comfortable with what is going on then there's a reason for that feeling. So it will be best that you exit out and come back in later.
